Never before have I been treated as I have been by Steward Medical Group and Dr. Merida.  I have been a patient for three years.  I received only two weeks notice that Dr. Merida’s office was closing.  No reassignment to another doctor within Steward Medical Group, no cancellation of my appointment, which was in three weeks.  Nothing but a form letter.  I called the office and the person I spoke with said it was not my fault, it was the Steward Corporate office’s fault, call them in Dallas, TX.  I was also told that no doctors in the group located in Vero were accepting patients, although the Steward Medical Group Portal as well as my insurance provider’s
portal said they were.  I was offered an appointment with a Nurse Practitioner.  

I cannot believe how I was treated.  Totally unacceptable in any circumstance, but unbelievable to be treated this way by your doctor and the medical group she was a part of.  I am on medicine and require periodic blood work to ensure all is well.  I am not sure who will be taking care of this now.

I have filed a complaint with my insurance provider regarding Steward Medical Group and the handling of this situation.

I'm shocked to find out today that Dr. Merida's office in Vero Beach Fl  is CLOSING . No warning. No rescheduling my appointments. No referral to a new primary doctor. I have had my full physical scheduled for nearly 5 months I thought I HAD an appointment in June but was informed today WHEN I CALLED for a cough appointment - she has one week left before closing the office permanently. No communication with established patients?  Dr. Merida was very good. I'm very disappointed. Aetna needs to update their website too.
