Dr Rodriguez has been my doctor for nearly 9 years now. I was 36 yrs old when I realized something was wrong with my ability to concentrate and multitask. I had switched jobs from medical assisting to case management- which meant I went from quick, fast and very task-oriented job flow- pt arrives, do vitals, prep for MD, process patient out, repeat and at the end of the day and in between patient appts, call patients back, do refills, call patients with lab results, mail out correspondence. everything had a place, and you moved along with quick tasks through the day. Then I started case management. multiple things going on at once, different processes per patient, and patient's process post hospital discharge care all varied and several different charting/spread sheets to keep up with and all of the sudden i found myself drowning. All the documentation I was getting behind and I couldn't understand why I felt like I was drowning when I had always excelled in paperwork. Not only has he helped me , we tried different medications, he was who diagnosed me with ADD but he also said based on my history and my school years I already had it but I had found my own methods of coping and because I was an A/B student and in college I also did very well, if it hadn't been for the new job I might have just continued with my own coping mechanisms that I had developed. He also has helped me through some of of the most difficult situations in my adult life- losing the most significant person in my life; my grandmother, my husband's business going under during covid and my own loosing of income this last 18 months, almost losing our new home due to financial difficulties. He listened and he uplifted me, between him and one of the counselors at his practice I have managed to surpass my depression over the loss of my grandmother. Dr Rodriguez not only listens but he encourages you to NOT dwell on the negative, and to look for the positives in my life to help me find my center. He also has worked with me in regard to my ADD, and we found the medicine that I only need to take on days where I need to be very focused and therefore not fully dependant on any medication. He does run late but thats because he spends the time he needs to with you, and the staff/service frm the office has gotten better but when I need something I make sure it gets done.
Dr Francisco Rodriguez didn't even bother trying to hear my story or get to know my struggles. He wanted to immediately slap me into the meds without asking which ones I've already been on, not wanting to hear about my gene testing which tell which meds are estimated to be better/worse for me, he made me feel guilty about having anxiety and not having a job saying along the lines of "What's the problem? It's just a job. You try it". He seemed insulted that I wanted to look into the meds he gave me before starting to take them saying "I don't do things like that, this is MY job." He made me uncomfortable which is why I always brought my husband with me to the appts, his English is difficult to understand and I wish I spoke better Spanish, he just didn't make any effort with me. I also nearly ran out of meds because he cancelled an appt with me and his staff took several weeks to get me my refill prescription, in which they sent the wrong prescription to my pharmacy and then denied it but the pharmacy confirmed they had before the finally amended that it was a new staff member who did that.
