General Dentists - Bountiful, UT

"Dr McGowan and his staff have been working with my wife for years. I hate the dentist, however, I really like Dr McGowan, he makes me relax and eases my fears. I like his disposition and side chair manner. He is funny, relatable, enjoys his work, and loves his patients. He and his staff treat me like family. They truly care how I feel and that I and my teeth come out feeling and looking great! "

"Dr.Chamberlain seemed nice. Since I get nervous at dentists, I asked if nitrous oxide was available. He said no, but he could write a prescription for something to calm me. At the scheduling desk, the lady said insurance does not cover the Rx so I would have to pay $50 and she will give me the prescription to go get filled. So I asked - so the pills will be free at the pharmacy? She said No, I will have to pay for the pills. What's the $50 for? She said it is for him to WRITE the prescription. She said that the doctor is "Licensed" and the $50 is to offset the cost for his license. I have NEVER been charged for a doctor to WRITE a prescription! I have now called 4 other dentists in the area and they said they have never heard of such a thing. I told the lady at the desk that I don't believe I want to pursue the next appointment with them at this time. BEWARE!!!! If the first visit starts out that sketchy, it will continue to be sketchy. When Dr. Chamberlain wrote me a letter saying he was dismissing me as a patient. Here is a quote from his letter: "The reason for this charge is to cover the advanced training and licensure required to provide this service." "
