"Bottom Line: Do not go here if you care about your health. Go elsewhere and I will outline the reasons below. If you are looking for timeliness in care or that personal touch, well, keep on going. It's been over a month and the doctor /the office still has failed to simply fax paperwork to my insurance company for blood pressure medication. If they don't have urgency for BP meds, then don't risk your medical treatment here for anything else. Imagine depending on a medical service provider and that provider not doing their due diligence. Now make that a reality by going to RWJ Urgentmed. Background: I've been going to this office for years and the quality of care has degraded to the point that I am in the process for looking for another doctor. First, the doctor's office fails to call in my medication in a timely manner for over a month now. I get to the point that I call their emergency line and only after that, I receive a text for a prescription refill the next day for a 30 day refill from my pharmacy until they can fax a simple piece of paper that I had seen they had on hand. It shouldn't take several phone calls to get a prescription refilled, especially after an in-person visit. Prescriptions should be called in immediately after the visit, to prevent issues like this from happening. "Urgent Med" should have a little sense of urgency, or else change the name to "When we feel like it Med" and watch your patient count drop. Imagine having a serious condition and not knowing or trusting your doctor to call in for your medication. No trust. Things like this are caused by poor management in the administrative side of the office. I've called almost daily and the people who pick up the phone merely say "he's been very busy and he'll get to it today"...well today came and went. 30 of them to be exact. My insurance company has been faxing paperwork to the doctor's office to fill out regarding my medication. They also have made calls to them. I have been calling and following up every day since to make sure they fax the paperwork back to the insurance company. The fax was received several times and it always seems like it has been misplaced or another employee had it, or insert another excuse. At the two week mark, the assistant tells me that she is going to get the doctor to sign the paperwork and that he is "very busy". Then at around the same two week mark, they said they haven't sent my blood pressure refill because I had not gone to get a new blood work. As this never came up in conversation before as it being the reason for withholding medication I currently see the same doctor for for years. When I received that poor excuse for bad paperwork / office management, I went ahead to Quest to complete my blood work that KEPT THE DOCTOR from fulfilling a script that he made and I am already diagnosed for. TWO WEEKS later, I am still calling and now they still say that the doctor is "too busy" due to the holiday season. This isn't an administrative issue. They have the paperwork they need. I had it faxed again and again and on top of that, I made sure they had the paperwork during my IN PERSON visit. I had eyes on the paperwork that the receptionist had in her hand. I mentioned it to the receptionist, the student PA, and the actual doctor and received the head nod from all that they understood what I was talking about and why I needed that paperwork faxed to my insurance company for a prescription refill.. Apparently all those head nods were false, since the simple task still not been complete. . I doubt this issue will get resolved and here I am with a two pills left from his prescription. I had to sign up for TELADOC to get another refill until they decide to act. Imagine being treated like this when you are depending on a medical doctor for vital medication that will get you better? Like I said before, now go ahead and make it a reality if you choose this place. If other patients are being treated like this, I wouldn't want to give this place the trust that I require from medical provider. This obviously shows a poor hand-off of information between shifts and that patient care falls through the cracks, even though I have been calling almost daily. The things I would want to change in this doctor's office the lack of consistency with the level of care that I receive in the form of timely paperwork submission, follow through with patient care (calling in prescriptions on a timely manner), and a little more of a human factor to be present in the employees that run that office such as increased due diligence from the staff. That could have come a long way. Especially for a business (yes it's a business) that relies on trust, consistency, and quality control to be successful in a highly competitive market. It's a shame. Lost my business. "
