Having had an occurrence six years ago, I am fairly certain I have a bulging disc in my lower back.  I saw Dr. Mathur this past week and explained my situation to him.  He ordered an MRI and said a steroid injection would be the appropriate treatment and I could schedule it as I left the office.  He was well aware of the pain and discomfort I am suffering trying to function with this situation yet the first available appointment for the injection is July 1, six weeks from the day he saw me.  This is unacceptable.  I don't expect to be treated immediately but to expect a patient to function for six weeks with this condition is pretty poor medicine, in my opinion.
I have had injections in past years and I don't recall them taking half a day to be administered.  Are there really that many patients ahead of me that I am expected to wait for six weeks?  
I'm finding another doctor within my plan who is ready to provide treatment and relief for my condition, not delay the alleviation of my discomfort for a month and a half. 
If you can't get the treatment plan underway in a reasonable amount of time, stop accepting new patients and expect them to suffer for your scheduling convenience.
