I was referred by an optometrist with GA Eye Partners to Dr. Mally for swelling of my optic nerve. She diagnosed me with optic neuritis and more bloodwork. She did not follow up for the results of said bloodwork. Given the misdiagnosis, I was sent to a MS neurologist who said "we are late out of the gate" in terms of steroid treatment as it was 4 weeks after I was seen...I made the decision to walk into Emory's main ER in Atlanta the following day where they diagnosed me with NAION. GA Eye Partners has not been referring their patients who need a neuro opthalmologist to Dr. Mally but instead to Emory. Unfortunately, I was referred to her in error and it was an unnecessary frightening road given her lack of expertise. She should stick to cosmetic surgery...
