I am in the medical field, and the condescension and lack of professionalism that we experienced today rival any that I have experienced. We had a consult about 1.5 months go for my 11 yr old son - he has a tooth that is in the roof of his mouth that needs to be pulled down to its proper place. The procedure was explained to us as a simple procedure not requiring sedation. My son was very apprehensive, and we assured him that either myself or his dad would be with him. On arrival, my son was called back. My husband got up to go with him and was told by the person calling him back that he could not go, they were just going to take his vital signs and then come get us. About 20 minutes later, after my husband had checked with the front desk two different times about what was going on and why we were not back with him, we were told that he was being numbed, and that we could not go back with him, as that "was not allowed". We immediately requested to speak to the dentist as we had not been told this prior to this time, and had been told three different times that we could go back as soon as they were done with xrays (which he did not have done), vital signs, etc. We were spoken to in a very condescending manner by Dr. Temple, and after discussing this situation with her, decided that we did not want anyone who is going to lie to a parent (or a child, we found out a little later) working on our child. I will never step foot in this facility again, and would encourage anyone who wants to be treated well to avoid it, also.
