I love working with Dr. Baez! The quality of therapy she provides is hard to find in a clinic or hospital setting. She has a small private practice and I'm so grateful she accepts my insurance. I have finally found a therapist that doesn't just listen but takes the time to teach coping skills I can actually use.
Very easy to talk with! A friend of the family referred us and I'm so glad because our daughter ....you know how hard it can be for a teenager to open up and talk ....absolutely looks forward to every session. We can't thank her enough! We have seen so much progress. Really helped our daughter with her social anxiety.
I have been looking for a professional life coach and mental health therapist that can match my goal oriented mindset for a while. I really enjoy working with Ms. Baez, she is a wonderful therapist and coach. She really keeps me on track. I like that she teaches actual coping skills and how we make strategies for changing habits weekly. She uses a lot of CBT, which has helped improve my perception of a lot of the challenges I have faced. I really appreciate how warm and welcoming she is...Her appointments are structured, and I really feel like we are working together.
Interesting how she had no reviews and all of a sudden a bunch popped out! One if definitely her (if not all) and the others are her friends! I’m not a service member who didn’t get their way. And no, no one else suspected me of malingering. It was JUST YOU. Thanks for making my life harder when I am already having a tough time. For your information, I spiraled out of control and was admitted to an alcohol abuse program. You’re not the reason I went but definitely a contributing factor. I tried to tell her multiple times I wanted to see someone for my physical pain and she ignored me and continued to ask me questions. I spoke to three other providers that knew her and they all recommended I take action. I haven’t decided yet so that’s tbd. I wrote this review because people need to know what kind of provider you are. You are in the wrong business with your lack of empathy. In October 2021, I went to my provider for my neck and back pain. I got referred to Ms. Baez for ?Pain Management.? I don?t go to medical often so I thought that was the terminology for Physical Therapy. I?ve had chronic neck and back pain for a couple years now. Sometimes it gets so bad that I can?t move my neck and sometimes I need help out of bed or off the floor. I was paying for a Chiropractor out of pocket and that?s not cheap. Then I realized maybe medical can do something for me. To my surprise, Pain Management is related to mental health, NOT physical pain. Sure, my pain may be a result of my PTSD but I just wanted to stop hurting. Ms. Baez off the bat was cold and rude. At my first appointment, she spent an hour asking me about mental health and didn?t help me with my PHYSICAL pain because we ?ran out of time.? She said something about it being ?protocol.? I told her I didn?t need help with my mental health because I already had a psychologist I trusted and have been seeing for almost a year. Mind you, I deeply mistrust people and telling her my situation made me feel uncomfortable and vulnerable. I repeatedly told her I?m here for physical pain and she continually dismissed me. She blamed me for not being clear to my provider what I needed. What is not clear about PHYSICAL neck and back pain. I opened up to her about my current conditions to include PTSD and sexual trauma. Our second and last meeting was at most 15 mins where she provided no assistance and when I tried to tell her again that I need help with physical pain, she said she is leaving the military and can?t see me anymore and that she is kicking me back to my provider. I just took a look at my records and she wrote that she suspects I?m MALINGERING. Malingering about what? Is she accusing me of lying about my sexual trauma, PTSD, inability to sleep, physical pain and living in misery just wanting to be back to my normal self? Ok Baez, I?ve been seeing a therapist every month and taking anti-depression medication for almost a year now because I thought it?d be fun. She is exactly why people don?t trust medical professionals. She did not believe me or take me seriously. She was cold, judgmental and failed to see me as a person. It is in her right to state her medical opinion but it is also dangerous and can cause harm to patients by not taking them seriously. What happened to me has taken over my life - career, mental health, physical health, hope for a better future and the ability to self love. It?s heartbreaking to know she has no pride in the heavy responsibility bestowed upon her as a medical professional. She lacks compassion and empathy. It?s also disappointing from one female to another. Just because I didn?t act or look like what you perceive someone should. Thanks for making your internal bias known and thanks for treating me like an idiot! You have no EQ and you are a souless medical ?professional? who failed to get to know her patient and realize how much pain they are in.
I started working with Dr. Baez in January. I was referred to her by my PCM at Roper St. Francis, who believed the symptoms I was having was stress related. At first, I wasn't sure whether a mental health therapist was the best option. When I went in for my evaluation the clinic was so inviting. The women at the front desk were so helpful and answered all my questions. When Dr. Baez pulled me back to her office I could tell she was chatting with me the whole way to make me feel comfortable. She took the time to provide me information on stress and the symptoms of prolonged stress and burnout, which was really nice cause I always thought most therapist only listened to your problems but she actually helped me understand what was going on and we talked about actual changes I could make to decrease the symptoms I was experiencing, which was really scary at the time.
(LT) Baez as I knew her was one of the best mental health providers and the only mental health provider I trusted while I was active duty. I went through a cheating husband, divorce, new relationship, death of my boyfriend, and the stress of a medical board. I can honestly say I would not have been able to grieve and cope with the sudden loss of my boyfriend had it not been for her. She treated me for two years and gave me multiple resources to help me in other ways if she thought I needed a little more help. She fit me into her schedule multiple times, listened, never judged, and gave me sound advice while dealing with everything I came to her with. She always had nothing but my best interest at heart. Even now that I am out of the military, she still checks on me regularly. She genuinely cares about every one of her patients and goes out of her way to ensure they are taken care of with whatever they are needing from her at the time. I would recommend her to anybody seeking mental health care. I work in the medical field, so many providers now are “in and out” and you can tell that they genuinely are not there to help you, I can honestly say that she is not one of them. If you’re looking for mental health care, no matter the reason, she is one of the best choices you could make. In response to medical “professional”, yes, many medical providers believe that pain is related to mental health. Just because your medical provider steered you wrong in referring you to her is no reason to give her a scathing review, especially because you were sent to her without clear understanding by your provider by what you needed. I worked in military medicine, I know exactly how it goes and I cannot tell you how many medical providers sent their patients to her or other specialties incorrectly. Your medical providers SHOULD have referred you to physical therapy and sent an outside referral to pain management. That is on your medical provider, not her. And that is also on you for not going back to your provider to get the correct referral once you realized her specialty was not what you needed.
In Reply to "Medical Professional" LT Baez has helped so many of our staff and military service members. Myself and several service members were patients of hers and she always went above and beyond in helping. She is by far one of the most caring therapist we have had here at the Naval Health Clinic. We were sorry to see her go. It is so sad to see such a negative review by what seems to be an 'upset service member' who didn't get their way. LT Baez provides mental health services, not pain management via medication. If I remember correctly this specific reviewer was suspected of malingering by several providers.
