I had been seeing Dr. Strober for several years at UCONN.  Made appt to see him since the practice left UCONN and relocated to Cromwell.  While checking-in, was told that the Doctors in the group will not see anyone unless you provide a credit card for them to keep on file and authorize them to charge the card as needed.  Spoke with office manager and told her this was not a bar tab and I would gladly pay my copay prior to seeing the Doctor.  She said the Doctors are firm on this rule.  Was told they have a "very secure" site to keep CC info secure.  If Target and Bank of American can have their site hacked and info stolen, not confident that a small medical practice has better security.  Have never had to leave CC for Doctors appointment in 63 years, not going to start today.
