"It was very apparent that my mother was dying, yet Dr. Alencar never told her she needed hospice. The doctor only cared about which prescription drug she could push next. We had to schedule a special call to get hospice, a call that the doctor was 2 hours late for, and we never received an appology for her being late. When my mother denied the next drug and asked for hospice, Dr. Alencar asked "what's your goal for hospice?" What kind of doctor asks this??? She made my mother feel like she was giving up, eventhough she died only 5 days later. Five days!!! The doctor also told her she couldn't get pain relief from hospice, without being on a "cancer" drug. What a lie! My biggest regret is that we let my mom stay with this doctor. She knows nothing, and is late for every appointment. My mother was in way more pain than she needed to be, all thanks to a Doctor who only cared about pushing drugs and didn't pay attention to her deterioration. If this is the direction Healthcare is going in this Country, we all are in deep trouble."
