"The first time I met Dr. Darko I had just been told by another OB that I needed to decide quickly if I wanted to try for an induction or go straight to a c-section, but I didn’t feel like I had enough information to make that decision. Dr Darko happened to come into my room right at the beginning of her shift and she asked if I needed anything. I explained that I didn’t know enough to make this big decision and she explained to me all of the relevant factors and how they calculate the likelihood of a successful induction. It was incredibly informative and helped me make the right choice. 3.5 years later I sought out her expertise for another medical issue after seeing a handful of other doctors who dismissed my concerns repeatedly; Dr. Darko kept running tests until finally all that was left to do was order a CT. I’m so grateful for her diligence because the CT scan was the only test showed the source of my problem! It shouldn’t be rare to have a doctor pursue answers in order to help a patient, but it is. Dr. Darko is an amazing physician and compassionate person! "

"I have been under Dr. Kaltak’s care since early 2019, and I have always loved her sense of warmth and deep compassion and caring personally for my health, and I know she is like that with everyone! The entire nursing and reception staff at her office (Dearborn OB/GYN) are also so supportive and kind through every appointment, and Dr. Kaltak and her nurses are always very sure to answer my usually extensive questions and provide answers that are always said with compass and interest, as well as the fact that they check with me to be sure I understand the answer, and know all of the options available for the treatments I need. While Dr. Kaltak and her nurses always give their best medical opinions for my particular needs, they never try to influence me in any way other than what I’M most comfortable with, and if it’s complicated, they simply reply, “We will make it work and you will be ok.” I have had surgery by Dr. Kaltak to treat issues I had from endometriosis pain multiple times, and I have always been thrilled with her results to improve my health and life! I had a full hysterectomy and my ovaries removed because of the severity of the pain, and because I decided that with my chronic pain issues and needs to be on my psych medication to be happy and stable, that biological children were not for me and my husband. While my husband agreed, I was not EVER asked by Dr. Kaltak or any of the medical staff at Dearborn OB/GYN if “my husband approved this for me”, or told “We can’t approve this procedure because we don’t know if your husband agrees or knows about this.” It was always about respecting MY choices, agreeing with what was right for ME and MY family, and listening to MY thoughts and feelings, not about someone who wasn’t the one requesting the surgery (though he did approve and support me in my choices to treat my chronic pain this way). Dr. Kaltak always wants whatever is right for her patients and their families, and respects the bodily autonomy of the patients she works with entirely, and is a wonderful and compassionate person!"
