"So, my PCP referred me here over concern about a lung infection. When I got to my appointment the staff and team and read NOTHING and were completely unprepared. The doctor was unbelievably arrogant, claiming she was "much better than those Mayo Clinic people" yet once she finally realized why I was seeing her she immediately told me I did not have an infection. Of course, the CT scan the following week clearly showed an infection, which then suddenly Gupta and crew but even then they were unable to respond in a timely manner. Needless to say, while my money was taken by this provider (be very wary of all OSF staff) I was provided with NO proper care or treatment of any kind. Definitely not someone I would trust with anything important."

What is Pulmonology?

Pulmonology is a subspecialty that focuses on complex diseases of the lungs. In order to diagnose and treat lung disorders, a pulmonologist may also examine the chest, nose, throat, or heart. However, the main function of pulmonology is to make sure the lungs are functioning well.

A pulmonologist often uses pulmonary function tests, such as spirometry, to measure how well the lungs are able to move air in and out. Pulmonologists are trained to take surgical samples and biopsies when needed, but they do not typically perform surgery. Pulmonologists may provide consultations to other doctors, acute care for sudden illnesses, or regular care for patients with long-term lung disorders.
