" scheduled an appointment with Dr. Arghami specifically for a routine annual physical. I was not experiencing any health issues and made it clear—both when booking the appointment and multiple times during the visit—that my purpose was solely a wellness exam. This was reiterated when I scheduled over the phone, during check-in at the front desk, when speaking with the nurse, and again during my conversation with the doctor. During the visit, lab work was ordered. However, I later learned that the office billed my insurance as an office visit for “new patient to establish care” rather than as a physical/wellness visit. I was told by the office that they “do not do physical/wellness visits for first visits,” despite the fact that I was led to believe I could schedule a physical when I first called. The result was an insurance charge of $892 for an office visit instead of the covered wellness visit I had requested. When I reached out to the office to address the discrepancy, they refused to correct the billing. This experience suggests a lack of transparency and clear communication with patients, as well as a disregard for proper billing practices. It is both frustrating and disappointing, and I feel it takes advantage of the complexities of the healthcare system. I would advise anyone considering a visit here to get detailed, written confirmation of the type of visit being scheduled and how it will be billed before agreeing to an appointment."
