General Practitioner - Tempe, AZ

"I have been seeing Dr. Golek for over a year and have had multiple visits with her. Each visit was someone neutral (which in itself would be 3 stars, I would want a doctor that is exceptional and goes above and beyond) until this last visit where I showed up 5 minutes late, she lashed out at me when I told her I might want to bring one more concern I had to her attention. She is not sympathetic which is what I want in a doctor. It?s none of her business why I was late, there is a reason why there is a 10 minute window. I am paying for her to work for me and she needs to remember that."

"Visited for a blood test and specialist referral. Blood test not done in house. Due to a clerical issue (on their behalf as confirmed with my insurance company) with my DOB my insurance claim was denied. Saw the doctor for 8 minutes and got a bill 7 months later for nearly $350 dollars. Called to find out why it was so much and was told it was a new patient fee, which I was not informed of at the time of my visit. Was told a manager would call me back to discuss it. Never got a call. Called a week later and was told front desk staff would call me back. Never got a call. Called a week later and spoke to a manager who said no one told her she needed to call me. Expressed concern about such a high charge for such a short visit with no services rendered and was met immediately with apprehension: "I wasn't there so I can't speak about it. I'm not going to argue with you about this." Wasn't arguing and hadn't even raised my tone. Was told I could speak to the doctor about it, but never got to. Called my insurance and they told me the DOB on my claim had been incorrect which is why it was denied. They processed it immediately. Called the office back and they said that their billing department would need to confirm the claim had been processed and that I would get a call back in a week. Told them I would file a BBB complaint if I didn't get a call this time. Got a call two weeks later asking for my email to send a bill. Told them to mail it. Got the bill in the mail and it said I could pay online. Tried and wasn't able to create an account. Called to ask why and was told I had to pay in person. Showed up in the middle of the afternoon and the door was locked. Called and got them to let me in and the front office had a foul feminine odor. Paid my bill. Once cleared, filed a BBB complaint explaining how they had treated me poorly, spoke to me in an apprehensive manner, failed to keep their word, did nothing for me and overcharged me. Their response was to ignore my point and lie about the complexity of my visit and state that I said nothing about being dissatisfied with their service at the time of the visit, despite my complaint addressing how I was treated after the visit. Would not recommend them to anyone. Will never seek their services again. They are dishonest and unscrupulous. Foul odor, foul people."
