Physiatrists - Gresham, OR

"Dr. Maksimov is the least compassionate, most rigid, and least caring doctor I have ever been treated by. I have been treated for chronic pain for years but had to switch to Dr. Maksimov because my regular doctor left the practice. Despite the fact I have been stable on my medication for YEARS and that the medication allows me to function and have a mostly normal life - working full-time, volunteering extensively, etc; he decides to rapidly taper me down (by 40% my first month with him) with no alternatives or support). He treated me like an addict despite the fact I have been seen at this same clinic for 5+ years and refused to listen to or respond to my genuine concerns about being able to function and continue working and volunteering like I do. He didn't see me as a patient but as a number and didn't care about my circumstances. He actually told me that if I was a new patient, he wouldn't give me what I am currently on. Ok, nice to know, but irrelevant as I am not a new patient (maybe of his but not of his clinic's). What kind of doctor refuses to listen to their patient or address their valid concerns about extreme tapering off of medications they have been on for 10+ years? This doctor has ZERO compassion, does not listen to the patient, talks over you, and goes out of his way to make patients on opioid medication feel like degenerate addicts. This is certainly failure to provide a normal standard for care and is asking for a malpractice suit to be brought against him."
