Primary Care Doctors - Landing, NJ

"Dr. Purcell is the best doctor out there. I have been a patient for 20 years, and although I have moved out of the area and his hours have decreased, I would rather wait for an appointment than go to anyone else. He is extremely knowledgeable, and takes the time to understand the nature of your problem. Not only does he ask the right questions, but he explains the reasons why you are having a particular health issue and what options you have for treatment. If you are looking to run in and get a prescription, then he is not the right doctor for you - and I would not be comfortable with any doctor that has that approach as it is not in any way an indication of expertise. I realize that with the care and attention he gives each patient that he is sometimes behind schedule, but that is a perfectly acceptable "sacrifice" given the fact that I am one hundred percent comfortable putting my health and wellbeing - my life - in the hands of someone I completely trust. Dr. Purcell is an exceptional doctor and I will continue to go to him as long as he is practicing medicine."

"I started seeing C. Damico about June 2016 and initially things were going good. As the relationship developed I found the staff and Damico became rude, manipulative and disrespectful. There were frequent password resets through no fault of mine and was told that it was necessary to visit the office for a temporary pw due to HIPAA rules. I contacted my Congressional representative and his staff checked with Health and Human Services - there is no HIPAA requirement to go the office for a temp pw. That could be accomplished by phone or email. (As an aside, I lived about 10 miles from this office (each way) - expensive when living on Social Security.) Initially, prescriptions for 90 days with refills then that was stopped for no apparent reason - all drugs are for maintenance - another sign of disrespect and wasting time. The final situation was related to annual Medicare physical. A few days before staff called demanding SSN - had a Medicare Advantage plan that clearly stated NOT to use Medicare number. Also, for security reasons I don't give SSN over the phone. Then that person demanded that I visit the office to provide SSN before the scheduled physical. That is when I dropped Damico and Skylands. My suggestion to everyone is to stay away from Skylands and all providers of that group. "
