"I have been continuously seeing Dr. Khosla since before she had her own practice back in 1980s. I would not go to any other OB/GYN after finding her. She is the reason I was able to conceive three children and is the reason I did not lose my third child during pregnancy. I have had other GYN issues over the years and she has been nothing short of professional, knowledgeable, informative and most of all caring. I now have to have surgery and would not trust anyone else to do it. In addition, my third child is now a 21 yr old young woman and a patient of Dr. K because I trust Dr. K to now care for her. Prior to finding Dr. K I went to a different doctor every year because they were all awful. I feel I was very lucky to find Dr. K way back when and followed her when she opened her own practice. I cannot thank her enough for the care she has given me over all of these years and dread the day she decides to retire."

She’s rarely ever in office & she doesn’t follow up when she says she will. Honestly I feel like she doesn’t truly care about her patients. The staff is nice though. "

"I have been a patient of Dr. Kaplan's for about 20 years. I have had a lot of weird and uncomfortable medical problems. Dr. Kaplan always takes the time to sit with me and to genuinely listen to what the problem is. She has helped me resolve all my issues, whether they needed surgery or medication (sadly, I've had a fair amount of both). There was a time a few years back when I experienced some abrupt treatment by one person on Dr. Kaplan's staff. That person is no longer on Dr. Kaplan's staff and all the people who are there now are always very lovely to me."

"Dr. Govindani delivered our first child. I initially approached her when I was having irregular periods. She diagnosed my condition as PCOS and provided medications to treat my condition and get me back on regular period cycles. Later after I conceived I continued visiting her for my regular check ups, during which she was very good in answering all my questions and doubts about the pregnancy and it's symptoms. During my delivery, I had to stay in the hospital for 48 hours of labor and during this period she visited me frequently, was in constant contact with the hospital staff about my condition. Although my labor was getting difficult during the last phase, Dr.Govindani was very thoughtful in taking quick and right decisions and delivering our baby healthy. I was able to have a normal delivery because of the support and hope she provided me. Her compassionate care will always be remembered by me and my husband and we are very thankful to her."

What is General Obstetrics & Gynecology?

General obstetrician/gynecologists, or general OB/GYNs, are providers of routine care for women's reproductive health. They offer regular checkups and preventative care to detect illnesses early and keep women healthy. A general OB/GYN cares for a variety of health issues, including:

Healthy pregnancies
Contraception
Endometriosis
Uterine fibroids
Sexually transmitted diseases
Menopause
PAP smears
Annual breast exams

After the age of 18, it is important to see a general OB/GYN regularly for preventative care as well as any needed pregnancy care. When necessary, general OB/GYNs may refer their patients to related specialists such as a Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist or Reproductive Endocrinologist. However, women without complicated health issues may continue to see their general OB/GYN for care throughout their reproductive life.
