"DR. Birch only wanted to prescribe medications I didn't need. Also wanted tests run that were not needed. All I wanted was a form filled out and he gave me a hard time. He is the most unprofessional doctor I have ever encountered. Stay away from him. His office staff gave me an appointment and called the day before telling me he was not in that day. I had to show up on a day and time that was inconvenient for me. He also refused to go over my medical history that i spent $35.00 to have transferred to his office. He is totally unqualified for his occupation. "
"I have been his patient for several years now and have had nothing but great care for him. He remembers his patients, he actually listens to what you tell him about your condition and what you are feeling. He was key to resolving a back pain issue that had been treated with pain killers for years that was misdiagnosed and I now have a correct diagnose that is being treated correctly and am no longer in pain all the time. He follows up until you feel any issue is resolved. Excellent prompt care from him and staff and they actually respond to phone calls and email messages"
There are several kinds of primary care doctors. Which specialty you search for depends primarily on your age:
Adults see internal medicine doctors (also called "internists").
Babies, children, and teenagers see pediatricians.
Seniors see geriatricians.
Anyone can see a family medicine doctor.
Primary care doctors see people for check-ups, physical exams, or routine bloodwork. They also help people with chronic illnesses manage their conditions.
Primary care doctors are very important. If you haven’t seen a doctor in a while, you will most likely start with a primary care doctor. If you have medical problems or concerns, your primary care doctor can diagnose you and refer you to the right specialist for further consultation.
