"I visited the midwives 6 months into my 1st pregnancy, in 2015. I left another big name hospital in the city, as I felt that my concerns were not being addressed, and that the care provided was not intimate enough. Pregnant women have lots of concerns and fears, and I did not feel that they were considered to be legitimate causes. \r
I wanted the experience of a home birth, but opted for a hospital, in order to quell my partner's discomfort with going that route. \r
I found Damara Jenkins while researching midwives in KY. \r
She was everything that I did not know that I needed, since I had never given birth before. \r
It is an experience that one has to go through, in order to appreciate the knowledge and support that she provides. \r
To make this short, I gave birth again 18 months later, and returned to the midwives at U of L for their support. They are miracle workers, and I was educated, supported, and empowered during and after the entire process. Damara, Jackie and Joanie are a true dream team! "
