"I made the appointment for a physical. Arrived 15 min ahead of time to fill out paperwork. Was called in 45 minutes late, only to sit in a chair and answer questions that I had just arrived early for (to fill out their forms). I had a blood pressure check by someone, then she asked me more of the same questions that I already answered and the blood pressure monitor stayed on my arm the whole time. When I went in to see the doctor I found him in an exam room that was also his office, looked like he was renting space in the building. The doctor had obviously never performed a full physical, this was at best a basic exam that a workmans comp evaluation for billing purposes would give you. They don't draw blood or urinalysis on site, they refer you out. I asked the doctor where my physical was, he suggested that if I disagree with his practice that I could find another doctor. No problem there, there is a lot of doctors out there and I'll find a good one, this one is definitely not for me or my family. Very disappointed in this doctor, his office and in Aetna for having this 'doctor' on their site."

"Where to begin about this pathetic excuse for a Dr. and office. I will try to summarize my experience as well as my wife's. I initially had to select a Dr. as my primary physician through my health plan. So I reluctantly chose Dr. Joanna Ayala without knowing a thing about her other than the fact she is close to our house. My wife also selected her. To make a long story short, she is a part time Dr. who only works Tuesdays and Thursdays. The rest of the time she employ's a downright moronic RN names Georgeana Browning. It is virtually impossible to get her to see you and when you manage to see her, you get a second rate RN who is referred to as "a doctor" by others in the office. I like to call her the "intern" because that is what she reminds me of. I heard through the grapevine that Ayala is only a part time Dr. because she recently had a baby after a long absence. Who I am I to judge someone having kids, but the low grade RN she passes off to her patients in her absence is what makes this practice a disaster and directly tarnishes her reputation as a Dr. and business owner. Male Dr's don't become part timers just because they have kids. That is one of the many reasons why she is no longer my Dr. and I have since switched physicians. Back to Browning and my experience. She was scheduled to give me my yearly physical and when I saw her I thought she was Ayala since I never met either one. After finding out she was merely a nurse, I told her I wish someone would have told me this over the phone that I would not be seeing an actual Dr and rescheduled my appt. She was visibly annoyed that I wanted to see an actual Dr. and avoided me in the lobby after I waited for my new appointment with the receptionist. It is important to understand that Nurses as well as Physicians Assistants are NOT Dr.'s otherwise they would have that title and the full training. The only reason this is legal in CA and you can be seen by these people is because the state is flooded with people and not enough Dr's. This is why it allows Dr's ( like Ayala ) to hire second rate help and see her patients. I don't know about you, but I am old school and want the best treatment for my health ( that means an actual Dr. ). That was it for me with this operation. Also, I was with my wife on 1 of her trips as well and she saw Browning both times with the impression she would be seeing Ayala in the appt. As for her situation, Browning again dropped the ball with her diagnosis, treatment, bedside manner, lack of knowledge, calling in pain medication and outright lies to cover up her mistakes ( let just say the injuries were severe enough to warrant the ER and an MRI ). I was witness to it in person and on the phone. When confronted the next day as to why she didn't follow through on her promise to call in pain medications the night before in a timely manner, she couldn't handle the complaint and hung up on us like a little baby and a classic California snowflake cupcake. Ayala was called regarding this and it literally took her over 2 weeks to return the call about this urgent situation. When she finally was consulted and told of the situation over the phone by us, she downplayed what happened, made excuses and offered zero apologies. This isn't even the end of this story but hopefully, you all get the idea here. In my opinion, beware of this office and the medical treatment and care you will receive. Got runaround? Going to a my dogs veterinarian or asking a 80 year blind Chinaman with a dull spoon to examine me are better options than the Murrieta Primary Care Clinic. "

What is Family Medicine?

Currently in medical care in the United States, there are four main primary care specialties: family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Internal medicine is primary care for adults, pediatrics is primary care for children and infants, and geriatrics is primary care for seniors. Family medicine, the broadest specialty, is primary care for all ages.

A family medicine physician is a medical 'home base' for patients. They treat all ages, all sexes, all organs, and all diseases. They can see every member of the family, from birth through old age. This allows family medicine doctors to develop long-term relationships with their patients and to understand how their patients' role in the family affects their health. They can provide check-ups, immunizations, screening services, gynecological exams and obstetric care, routine health care, and health counseling. When more specialized care is needed, a family medicine doctor can refer their patients to appropriate specialists. They can become educators and advocates for their patients in the sometimes overwhelming health care system.

As health care changes in this country, family medicine is a growing specialty for families and individuals who are seeking more personalized health care and a more personal relationship with their physician.
